I have been going along to my polo lessons, which has been fun, and when I can I take Manda as well.
This last weekend has been very busy.
Friday night, I was sposed to got to a polo game down Wanstead, but did not get away from work early like I was planning, so did not manage to get there.
So haltered Tika and she remembered her leading lessons well. I have not put a halter on her for a few weeks.
Then I rode Manda, in the paddock, in draw reins and she is going well in these. I attach them much higher than normal, if I put them where they should be she goes way to deep and over bends badly. I have them on her in an atempt to stop her diving her nose forward and either pulling me out of the saddle, and/or getting so uncoorinated at the canter she disunites/stops or bucks. And so far they are making a change. I have them attachted right up in the dees on the front of the saddle.
Then Sat, I trimmed Manda and Ata, and Zebidi, then took Manda to polo, and rode her just on the edge of the group for 3 chukkus and also rode Pip for one. Manda went very well and even cantered along at the back with out pulling, running away, diving her head or bucking.
The day was very hot, so once I got home I did not do much and had a bad headache. Glad I got the mucking out done though as I did not have time Sun morning. And I did take Lucy for a short ride. I also washed Ben for the show on Sat morning.
Sun I woke up with the head ache still, and no panadol in the house. Let the horses out for a graze and started to get ready for the North Island Donky and Mule soc show. did not have time to muck out, and only just managed to get out the drive way at the time I wanted.
2 hour drive down to Feilding, to find that the times I had been given for starting where wrong and it started at 9.30 and not 10 like I thought, so I missed the first class.
Ben did well in his classes, he is such a sweetie, but not a show donk. But we did get lots of vet tape and a couple of ribbons. And he did a very good, if slow, performance challenge.
Zebi did very well, got me more vet tape, a couple of bars of choccie and a halter and rope.
The show went longer than usual and I did not get home till 6. Thought it was hot in Feilding, but much hotter when I got home.
Had all the mucking out to do, and watering the pots on my deck, and such like. Did not ride any of the others.
Now it is Monday morning and I need to get my a into g and get ready to go to work!
So thats all for now
