For one I got a halter back on Tika, she has gone a bit ferral on me again, so I must make an effort to at least do a little bit with her each night, or at least as often as I can.
I have been going out with the rope most nights this week and putting it round her neck and slowly getting it over her nose again.
Tonight the halter went back on. That perked me up lots.
And before that, I worked Sophie, she has been very good to ride over this week. I have ridden her Monday, Wednesday and tonight. Also last night I tried to lead her over the truck ramp in the paddock, which I have tried several times now. I got one hoof on by lifting it, but she was not keen at all on this.
Though she is walking over the scary blue packing sheet.
Tonight I rode her in some circles, and her trot is getting more ballanced (or I am on her anyway)
Then I walked her round the paddock, through the cones, over the poles, over the blue thing and then I lined up the truck ramp. She almost stepped on it, but stopped at the last minute.
So I let her look and then asked her to step on. She backed up a few steps.
I pushed her on again and she walked up to it again and almost stepped on it, I kept my legs on her, and thought forward and she stepped up in the ramp. I was only going to ask her to step up and then I would back her off. There is a bit of a step down on the other side and I did not want her knocking her grazed leg.
But she had a good forward movement going, so we walked over and off the ramp.
She of course, got told what a great little horse she is and lots of rubs on the neck.
I walked her round and bit more and called it a day.
Not long and I will have her loading on the truck.
What a great evening.
