On Saturday, after letting the horses out for a graze and mucking the paddocks, I took Sophie for a ride across the neighbours place. She went down the track to the creek, where we had a problem before with refusing to go down this and backing up. Sat morning she tried one backup, but I got her through it straight away, and down she went, and then with a minimum of dithering she crossed the creek, we have only crossed the creek once before, this was with a lot of dithering on the edge of it. I was so happy with her. She even went in on the way back, down the little muddy bank, last time we did this the bank was dry and not slippery.
Then we went for a ride over to the road to look at the traffic and she walked past the deer, with only a small look at them. This was also a major improvement from last time she saw the deer, that time I thought her heart was going to jump out of her body, it was beating so hard.
Then after the ride I got her on the truck in its normal parking place, so she had to go past the house, garage, and all the junk to get to it, and I got the bar up while she was in the truck.
So it was a great morning with Sophie.
Then I lunged Vague and did a bit of work with her, and did some work with Ata, with moving her hind end and shoulders when asked.
Then over to the other side and wormed Zeb, E, Ben, Angel and Lucy, and then trimmed Ben, E and Zebidi
Then after lunch I had a good break and only mowed the lawns.
Before feeding up for the night though I did get a halter on Tika, so that was good.
Sunday went much the same, Sophie went straight down the track, straight through the creek and past the deer with out spooking at them.
The I got her on the truck and put the bar AND the ramp up.
We are now ready for a trip out.
I did some body wraps with Vague and she coped with this well, then I took Ata for her second hand walk across the neighbours place, and the first on her own. She is such a confident little pony, and though it was only very short she was not fased at all.
Then I trimmed Angel and Lucy.
I had just enough time before lunch to take the recycling to the recycling station, and then had a very blobby afternoon, sitting in the sun watching a dvd, before taking Tika for a short walk round the paddock, with her halter on before feeding out.
So the only pony that got almost no attention this weekend was Manda, but she just does not seem to want it. I did give her a pat, and a piece of apple, and of course she was graze and feed like the others.
So one of the best weekends I have had for a long time :)
